Our confidential client is a top organization in SaaS services, is searching for a Cloud Engineer to join their team for a 6 month contract!

Key responsibilities include:

• Support, maintain & monitor Hadoop platforms & related infrastructure
• Monitor and manage the health and compute resources for Cloud and On-Prem environments
• Compute performance tuning
• Automate provisioning and de-provisioning of compute resources
• Monitor and manage storage consumption and release
• Support data access requests
• Support Data Engineers in Investigating issues and incidents (service errors, access issues)
• Interface with Cloudera Support (Support Cases, Provide Diagnostic Logs, Configuration details)
• Software updates & patching
• Support, Maintain & Monitor Analytics CDC Platform:
• Support software updates (test new releases in test environment & coordinate deployment to production environment)
• Support CDC Infrastructure (manage compute, memory, storage)
• Monitor production systems and manage/address incidents
• Support Data Engineering team in testing/diagnosing issues
• Maintain & Monitor Tableau Server infrastructure
• Manage upgrade of Tableau Server software
• Coordinate Server OS patching & upgrades
• Coordinate Server infrastructure enhancements (memory, cpu, additional storage)
• Work with Analytics Architect to implement Tableau Server High-Availability (cluster)
• Work with Analytics Architect to design Tableau Server Business Continuity/DR environment.
• Support VAS, Finance, CMS Analysts in creating and deploying Tableau Data Lake Data Source connections for Tableau Dashboards
• Manage and investigate incidents related to Tableau Server infrastructure
• Optimization of Big Data environment, applications and data views
• Support the integration and testing of data views/feeds for downstream data consumer
• Support the integration and testing of additional external data sources as required

• A minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role.
• Knowledge and experience with infrastructure provisioning and automation using tools and templates such as AWS CloudFormation and Terraform.
• Comfortable managing native cloud services and creating custom monitors and alerts.
• Familiarity with RDBMS DB management including ongoing maintenance and backup.
• Experience managing a Cloudera CDP Public Cloud environment (AWS and/or Azure) and knowledge of Cloudera CDP Public Cloud deployments and configuration using the Cloudera Control Plane.
• Familiarity with visualization tools, ideally with 1-2 years Tableau Server/Power BI Report Server administration experience.
