Overview

As the Senior IT Platform Administrator, you will oversee computer systems\xe2\x80\x99 operations, including configuration, monitoring, and maintenance. In this role, you will troubleshoot issues, implement upgrades, and ensure the overall health, operations, and security of computer and sever systems. You will also collaborate with other System Operations staff and assess technology needs, risks, and life cycles while also creating reports for cost containment and infrastructure monitoring.

Responsibilities

  • Support the production environment of all on-prem and Cloud systems and services as well as Administration of several Enterprise applications from a management configuration perspective.
  • Configure, implement and maintain all Enterprise systems and services.
  • Responsible for the technical planning and the highest level of performance tuning making sure all software, systems and services are running optimally.
  • Monitor all systems and services and respond to all incidents or events that may disrupt service.
  • Researche, build and improve standards, procedures, processes and metrics around the management of the technology platforms.
  • Anticipate and plan to accommodate the changing nature of the technologies and the forecasted needs and capacity growth to meet the demands of the business.
  • Look for ways to optimize, adjust, improve and automate to continually gain efficiencies and minimize downtime.
  • Implement designed strategies to ensure critical technologies, data and systems and services are available to users in a timely manner following a disaster event.
  • Assess technology risks and inform Supervisor of all identified risks along with a mitigation plan.
  • Encourag and build positive and professional client, partner and vendor relationships and works to assist others empowering them to learn and grow from what is being shared.
  • Maintain a high IT skill level, keeping current with the technology platforms and being able to provide consulting leadership to others.
Qualifications
  • Diploma in Computer Science, Business, or related discipline.
  • Multiple vendor certifications in systems or Cloud are an asset.
  • Seven years of experience in the IT industry, including:
  • Four years in support of technology platforms, including one or more of the following:
  • System and server configurations and implementation.
  • Backup and Recovery.
  • System Upgrades.
  • Four years of progressive project management activities or technical leadership experience in the same or related technical support discipline.
  • Working knowledge of project management competencies for infrastructure initiatives.
  • Working knowledge of a wide variety of platform technology hardware and software.
  • Advanced customer service skills.
  • Maintain a professional balance between customer and organizational needs to deliver effective technical solutions.
