Job Overview

The Data Analytics Lead Analyst is a senior-level position responsible for liaising between business users and technologists, a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within Compliance Technology Services and contributes to directional strategy. Recognized subject matter Data Quality authority for Compliance Technology Services. Requires Capital Markets and trade surveillance data experience. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required to guide, influence, and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas. Significant impact on the area through complex deliverables. Provides advice and counsel related to Data Quality or Capital Markets and trade surveillance data. Work impacts Compliance, which eventually affects the overall performance and effectiveness of Citigroup.

Responsibilities:

  • Applies in-depth understanding of how data quality collectively integrates within the Compliance Data Technology Services as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of Compliance Technology Services.
  • Identify and communicate risks and impacts and propose risk mitigation options, considering business implications of the application of technology to the current business environment
  • Employs developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers.
  • Produces detailed analysis of issues where the best course of action is not evident from the information available, but actions must be recommended/ taken.
  • Provide in-depth and sophisticated analyses with interpretive thinking to define problems, develop innovative solutions and influence strategic functional decisions
  • Supervise day-to-day staff management issues, including resource management, work allocation, mentoring/coaching and other duties and functions as assigned
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm\'s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
  • 7+ years experience with data analysis working with trade surveillance products and their life cycle.
  • 5+ years experience and have the ability to write and execute SQL code in complex ways and a backlog in dealing with large volumes of data.
  • Strong knowledge of any following Capital Markets products: Equity, Options, Futures, FX, Commodities, Fix Income, Non-Equity, Derivatives, Rates, and GPS.
  • Ability to interact with team members in geographically diverse areas to handoff work back-and-forth to achieve maximum productivity and is an excellent communicator.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint) with extensive experience using Excel for data analysis.
Education:
  • Bachelor\'s degree - Computer Science, Finance or Data Science /University degree or equivalent experience
