Overview

IDC Canada is seeking a Research Analyst to join our Infrastructure Solutions Data & Analytics team to support enterprise infrastructure research.

The Research Analyst, Enterprise Infrastructure Data & Analytics team is expected to conduct research and contribute to market sizing, market forecast, vendor research and support regional consulting projects including market modelling, presentations etc. The successful analyst will get an opportunity to work across various technologies like storage, networking, security and computing. The successful analyst will work with a small team as they delve into cutting edge technology platforms, technology risk management, cost-benefit economics, and produce key guidance for infrastructure vendors, large enterprises and solution providers.

The Research Analyst, Enterprise Infrastructure Data & Analytics team will be responsible for researching, writing, and advising clients about trends and solutions in the enterprise infrastructure market.

We will consider qualified candidates located in an approved remote location in Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and analyze data about enterprise infrastructure vendors using various primary and secondary research sources
  • Build and/or enhance data models for new and existing enterprise infrastructure markets. Manage core infrastructure data products (market trackers, forecast, spending guides etc.)
  • Ensuring timely delivery of data and analytics and consulting projects
  • Design and conduct surveys, interview guides and data analyses in collaboration with IDC\xe2\x80\x99s Survey experts
  • Develop and deliver client presentations
  • Analyze and write market reports on enterprise infrastructure market developments, forecasting and vendor strategies
Qualifications
  • Bachelors\xe2\x80\x99 degree required; advanced degrees a plus
  • 2+ years of applicable technology industry and/or analyst experience, and be able to demonstrate a proven track record of written deliverables
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Ability to rapidly develop content based on analyst conversations, vendor briefings, and customer interviews
  • Excel skills are needed \xe2\x80\x93 additional abilities in other data management or analytics platforms and tools a plus
  • Travel to customer meetings and events, as required
  • This role is based out of our Toronto, CA office with a hybrid work model. We will consider qualified candidates located in an approved remote location in Canada.
