. This Full-time Fixed Term position is for approximately 12 months (based on length of grant funding), with the possibility of extension.
This position reports to the Principal Investigator. The position will focus on studies in the analysis of real-world data for cancer outcomes and methods for precision health analytics.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
(job functions include but are not limited to):
Oversees computerized laboratory database, including data cleaning, cutting, programming, data storage and management
Perform easy to complex statistical analysis
Assists in preparation of data for scientific presentations and research manuscripts
Development of tools and programs to assist with data visualizations, decision support tools, and knowledge translation products
Advise and train students, co-workers and researchers in statistics/biostatistics and specific databases as needed
Ensures that work assigned is completed as required
Ensures that immediate supervisor is kept informed of activities and progress of work
Share knowledge and expertise to improve team work
Keep up-to-date with advances in field of statistics/biostatics
Qualifications / Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Statistics, Computer Science, or equivalent required
Experience working in data science as a research assistant required
Courses in database management, multiregression analysis, survival analysis and repeated measures analysis
Working expertise of Statistical software: R (required), SAS (preferred), and STATA (preferred)
Proficiency in a Windows environment: Knowledge of MS office (required) and MS Access (preferred)
Ability to interpret/explain results from data analyses in the context of the research project
Effective communication of statistical ideas (oral and written) with health researchers
Ability to multitask and great organizational skills
Ability to manage and determine priorities
Strong analytical reasoning skills and decision making skills are essential
