We are looking for a Data Analyst \xe2\x80\x93 NAV Recon to join our Vancouver based Data Management Team.

The Data Management Team (DMT) resides within the middle office and is responsible for managing data centric processes and data quality that supports the investment management business. The team ensures that daily and historical data is accurate, data transport processes are successful, and complies with overall data governance. The DMT is a key thought-leader in driving data management maturity at Connor, Clark & Lunn Financial Group (CCLFG). CCLFG manages a wide range of global assets and heavily relies on the output of the DMT for a variety of functions from the front office to the back. What You\xe2\x80\x99ll Be Doing

This role operates in a unique position, working closely with business operations and systems technology. Your work will consist of managing the pooled fund reconciliation process for multiple fund managers. In addition to operational responsibilities, there are project and investigative aspects including continuous process improvement and ad-hoc problem solving in both an independent and collaborative setting. You are empowered to thrive as a process owner with both the creativity and responsibility that comes with delegation. You will have the opportunity to work directly with multiple partners including global investment managers, trade operations, portfolio compliance, and information technology.

As a Data Analyst, you will bring your attention-to-detail to oversee NAV reconciliation-processes and ensure data-quality across multiple systems. You will be able to isolate and resolve data-issues proactively, or when alerted by other business partners, in a well-organized and responsive fashion. You can expect to develop into a process-owner and subject-matter-expert that provides high-value contributions to the investment process. You will apply a continuous process improvement mindset to keep evolving systems and processes in line with growing data needs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Reconcile pooled fund net asset values (NAV), which involves analyzing pooled fund transactions and related security pricing, connecting with external custodians and internal portfolio management teams across all CC&L affiliates
  • Ensure reconciled fund values are appropriately reflected / updated across various internal systems and communicate with various internal and external stakeholders as required
  • Analyze exception reports and follow-up to ensure timely resolution
  • Support ad-hoc data, reporting, RFP and sales and marketing requests
  • Develop and manage relationships with both internal and external clients
  • Seek out and implement innovative process/workflow improvements to increase efficiency, mitigate risk, and increase the level of service provided to stakeholders on a proactive basis
  • Support the team leader on a variety of ad-hoc tasks and projects
  • Write and update procedure documentation as required

About You
  • Education \xe2\x80\x93 You have a degree in Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, Business Operations, or a related field. Completion of or enrollment in a relevant designation, such as the CFA is an asset.
  • Industry Knowledge \xe2\x80\x93 a minimum of 1 years of experience in the investment management industry with exposure to performance analysis, reconciliation, or fund accounting is an asset.
  • Problem Solver \xe2\x80\x93 You possess an analytical mindset and able to break down complex processes into components in able to logically deduce the root cause of issues.
  • Collaborative \xe2\x80\x93 You have a collaborative spirit that helps you to work well with others and you communicate effectively.
  • Self-Motivated \xe2\x80\x93 You have a passion for advancing the quality, scale, and efficiency of data processes and are able to take ownership of multiple processes with keen attention to detail.
  • Continuous Process Improvement Mindset \xe2\x80\x93 You constantly take a critical eye to processes with the goal of finding improvement opportunities and bring an ability to manage multiple projects.
