The Data Analyst will provide technical and analytical knowledge in the development and support of forecasting models, to design and manage the reporting environment as well as evolve the data collection, analysis, and reporting capabilities of the office. Working under minimal supervision, the Data Analyst will collaborate and be mentored by a more senior business intelligence analyst.
Work location for this position can be in-office, or hybrid.
Specific Duties
Post-secondary degree or diploma in quantitative or related field (computer science, software engineering, data science, statistics, mathematics) or equivalent training and relevant work experience.
Required - Advanced knowledge and experience using SQL, Power BI, Tableau.
1-2 years of working experience (could be a co-op position) in an analytical or reporting role using tools such as SAS, SQL, Visual Basic, HTML, data visualization or ETL tools for the purpose of data mining, staging, storing, reporting, and providing business insights.
Proficiency in database query reporting tools (SQL) in an analytical setting and the ability to automate reporting.
Expertise in the use of databases and applications to extract, transform and load (ELT) data.
Advanced excel proficiency which includes writing Macros and custom VBA scripting.
Data analysis using languages and tools such as Python, R.
Knowledge and experience with data visualization and business intelligence software.
Ability to deal effectively and professionally in a rapidly changing business environment.
Excellent written and oral communication skills with demonstrated expertise in the effective communication and visualization of data for a variety of audiences.
High level of interpersonal skills.
Strong work ethic and initiative.
Ability to work independently and follow projects to completion.
Ability to synthesize complex or diverse information, collect and research data to identify relationships, problems, and issues.
