Greenkey Farms Inc. is seeking a reliable farm worker. We are a family-owned modernized robotic dairy operation located approximately one mile outside of the City of Steinbach. Work is full-time and we are willing to train the right individual. Previous experience in livestock and machinery is an asset. Pay will be based on experience and performance. This position has a flexible schedule, but you must be willing to work some evenings and weekends and longer hours at certain times of the year. Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
- Feeding cattle utilizing a loader tractor and a TMR mixer
- Cleaning runways and bedding pens
- moving and treating cows as needed
- General upkeep/maintenance of farm building and machinery
- Seasonal field work
- Ability to operate farm equipment such as a payloader and tractor
- Must have access to reliable transportation to and from work
- Observant and willing to learn
- Able to prioritize and problem solve
- Calm demeanor and able to work with others as well as independently
- Comfortable with use of technology (computer, smartphone)
- Physically capable, able to lift 50lbs
- A knowledge of cattle and ability to work with them is an asset
- Mechanical ability is an asset as ideal candidate will perform routine maintenance
