Job Duties

Prepare and submit accurate and complete customs entries to ensure timely clearance of goods. Review shipping documents, invoices, and packing lists to confirm accuracy and completeness. Classify products using the correct Harmonized System (HS) codes and determine appropriate tariff classifications. Provide guidance on duty rates and applicable trade agreements based on product classification. Ensure all customs activities are fully compliant with relevant laws, regulations, and international trade agreements. Monitor updates to customs regulations and communicate any changes to relevant internal stakeholders. Liaise with customs authorities, including CBSA, to resolve any issues or discrepancies related to customs entries. Respond promptly to inquiries and requests for additional information from customs officials. Work cross-functionally with logistics, procurement, and sales teams to collect necessary documentation and information. Ensure all required permits and licenses are obtained and valid for customs clearance. Identify and address any customs-related problems efficiently to prevent delays or compliance issues. Support continuous improvement in customs processes to enhance operational efficiency and accuracy.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as international business, supply chain management, or customs compliance. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., Certified Customs Specialist) are preferred. Experience as a Customs Entry Writer or in a similar role, with a solid understanding of customs regulations. Knowledge of the Harmonized System (HS) codes and tariff classification. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in preparing documentation. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Familiarity with customs clearance software and related tools.

Pay: $47,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
