We are seeking a motivated and dynamic Customer Service / Sales Representative to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a proven track record in sales, particularly in food or food-related fields. This role involves building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs, and providing tailored solutions to meet those needs. The Sales Representative will play a crucial role in driving revenue growth and expanding our market presence.
Responsibilities
The Customer Service / Sales Rep in this role will be responsible for managing current independent accounts throughout North Vancouver Island, at store level. There will also need to be a focus on driving business growth through existing and new products for current customers and pursuing leads on potential customers, keeping abreast of the latest industry trends, and providing excellent after-sales service to retain customers
Duties
Identifying potential customers through networking initiatives, cold-calling, and email communications
Promptly submitting customers' purchase orders to the relevant department for processing
Resolving customer complaints in a timely and professional manner to maintain customer loyalty
Manage existing account relationships to ensure customer needs are being met
Utilize good project management and communication skills, and handle multiple projects concurrently
Must handle own administrative tasks for designated customers, including listing forms, and any other customer requirements
Manage product roll outs and follow up with customers and internal team to ensure customer satisfaction
Drive sales growth for current customers by expanding programs, making profitable changes and introducing new product lines in collaboration with company objectives and direction from the leadership team
Assisting the customer service team, as requested, to resolve any customer issues such as delivery delays or short shipped product, invoicing discrepancies
Backing up customer service team as required
Brand ambassador for our products, which includes presenting at trade shows, and supporting stores with instore demos
Merchandising and Product education - keeping stores accountable and up to date on our latest processes and procedures
Day travel required within sales territory to visit current and potential customers
Qualifications
Must reside in Nanaimo or the surrounding area
Degree in Business management, marketing, communications, or related fields is preferred
Proven sales or retail experience as well as a proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications
Strong negotiation and consultative sales skills, as well as effective communication, excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
Excellent customer service skills with a focus on building long-term relationships.
Strong account management skills with the ability to manage multiple client accounts simultaneously.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
