Summary:



With the direction of the Project Lead, develops CLB aligned, weekly training modules, CLB-aligned assessments (CLB 1-4) and tests (CLB 4-6), supplementary activities, and curriculum overview. Provides input into the evaluation process and funder reports.

How You Will Make a Difference:



With the support of the Project Lead, conducts, analyzes and summarizes environmental scans and consultations with project partners, teachers and clients to determine the real-world language needs of the identified client group.

Revises and further develops curriculum framework for materials targeting Literacy to CLB 6 BC Safe Haven clients with two focuses: Core English Language Training for Everyday Life (CLB 1-4) and Employment Readiness Language Training (CLB 4-6).

Incorporates input from Lead Instructional Coordinator and Program Manager to draft and finalize the templates for the assessments and tests, curriculum overview, curriculum modules, sample lessons, and supplementary materials. Emphasis will be placed on the timely delivery of assessment tools and tests in alignment with the ongoing classroom delivery of weekly curriculum modules.

Produces curriculum plan, CLB-aligned assessment tools and tests, curriculum modules, sample lessons, supplementary materials and other materials needed, effectively and efficiently to meet project milestones in collaboration with curriculum development team. Ensures that materials developed fit within existing or revised curriculum and, as appropriate, incorporates the application of Portfolio-Based Language Assessment (PBLA) theory.

Collaborates with the project team in developing BC SAF HAVN Curriculum guidelines package for Literacy to CLB 6 clients, PBLA assessment strategies suitable for Literacy to CLB 4 levels, test development for ERLT CLB 4-6 and a list of accompanying available resources.

With the support of Project Lead, develops training packages for Core English and Employment Readiness Language Training teachers on using the curriculum and materials for additional professional development.

Creates feedback collection tools for teachers and clients, including pre- and post-knowledge tests, and online surveys/focus groups.

Assists with the delivery of teacher training.

Provide support to Community of Practice (CoP), as requested.

Provides input for funder required reports.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

What You Bring:



Degree from a recognized university and a certificate or diploma from a TESL Canada recognized training institution; formal or informal experience in adult English as an Additional Language (EAL) curriculum and development; minimum of three (3) years' experience teaching EAL to adults in the LINC program and knowledge of Canadian Language Benchmark competencies/Portfolio Based Language Assessment (PBLA) and associated resources, OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Expected Hiring Salary:

$29.12 - $32.04

per hour. Dependent on education, training, experience, and internal equity. Wage grids are reviewed annually. We are a proud and certified
