Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Long Haul Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting freight over long distances while ensuring the safety and timely delivery of goods. This role requires a strong commitment to following traffic laws, maintaining vehicle safety, and providing excellent customer service during deliveries.

Responsibilities

Operate commercial vehicles to transport freight across long distances, adhering to all traffic regulations and safety protocols. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe operating condition. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, rest periods, and cargo information as required by law. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays. Ensure proper loading and unloading of freight, utilizing forklifts or other heavy equipment as necessary. Perform basic automotive repairs and maintenance on the vehicle when needed to ensure optimal performance. Adhere to all company policies and procedures related to transportation and safety.

Skills

Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record. Strong knowledge of freight handling procedures and regulations. Excellent time management skills with the ability to plan routes efficiently. Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members, dispatchers, and customers. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
