The Crew Truck Operator is responsible for operating heavy-duty trucks to transport crew, equipment, and materials to and from job sites in support of oil and gas operations. This role requires working in both office and field environments and involves ensuring the safe and efficient transport of personnel and equipment in compliance with all regulatory and safety standards.
The Employee's duties shall include, but are not limited to, the following:
Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
Adhere to all safety policies and regulations to ensure safe operation of equipment and safe transport of personnel.
Maintain current certifications and training for operating crew vehicles, pickers and any additional equipment used in the field.
Monitor and report any unsafe conditions, incidents, or accidents promptly to supervisors.
Wear and maintain appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) including coveralls, hardhats, gloves, boots, and safety glasses.
Report safety concerns or incidents immediately to supervisors or safety officers.
Follow and Participate in the Resolve HSE program
Maintain 100% Compliance Rating on Workhub
Maintain Valid First Aid, H2S and CSO Certificates
Decommissioning Site Preparation and Support:
Assist in the preparation of job sites by setting up equipment, materials, and tools.
Assist in loading and unloading equipment and materials from trucks as necessary.
Assist with the preparation of work areas by coordinating the placement of equipment and tools as needed.
Maintain cleanliness of work areas, ensuring they are free of hazards, debris, and obstructions.
Support the decommissioning of oil and gas sites, including wellsites, facilities, tanks, pipelines, and related equipment.
Assist in dismantling and removing old or obsolete equipment, piping, and infrastructure.
Transport materials, scrap, and equipment to designated locations on site or for disposal.
Support ground crew in cutting, rigging, and preparing components for removal.
Equipment Operation:
Safely operate crew trucks, including flatbeds, pickers, and other heavy-duty vehicles.
Transport crews, equipment, and materials to and from designated job sites safely
Inspect vehicles before and after use, ensuring they are in proper working condition, including checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and brake function.
Operate picker trucks, knuckle booms, or articulated cranes safely and efficiently.
Perform pre-operational inspections of equipment (fluid levels, mechanical systems, safety features).
Secure and rig loads using proper lifting techniques and rigging equipment.
Follow lift plans and maintain control of loads during hoisting and lowering operations.
Crew Support:
Work collaboratively with other crew members to ensure that job tasks are completed safely and on time.
Ensure that all crew members are transported safely to job sites.
Communicate clearly with signalers, riggers, and other crew members during lifts and transport.
Support general Labour tasks as required by the decom crew supervisor or foreman. Assist operators, technicians, and supervisors with tasks as directed.
Provide mentorship or guidance to junior crew members when needed.
Maintenance & Reporting:
Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on crew trucks, pickers and equipment, ensuring all vehicles and equipment is fully operational.
Complete necessary documentation, including vehicle inspection logs, delivery receipts, and maintenance records.
Report any mechanical issues or concerns to maintenance teams for repair.
Material Handling and Logistics:
Transport equipment, tools, and materials to and from the job site, ensuring proper storage and handling.
Maintain inventory control by ensuring materials and supplies are replenished and organized.
Communication,
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain communication with dispatch and supervisors regarding schedules, routes, and job site requirements.
Coordinate with crew members and other personnel to ensure timely and effective transportation needs.
Complete equipment logs, inspection reports, and lift documentation.
Report equipment issues or incidents promptly to supervisors.
Maintain accurate records of hours, tasks completed, and materials moved.
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift and carry heavy materials and equipment up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to stand, kneel, squat, bend, and drive for extended periods of time.
Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in various weather conditions.
Capable of performing manual labor as part of unloading and securing equipment.
Working Conditions:
Primarily field-based work, which may include working in remote locations, outdoors, or in challenging environmental conditions.
Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and irregular hours based on project needs.
May be required to travel to different job sites as needed.
