Insituform Technologies is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to work out of our Hamilton office.

SUMMARY



As a member of the field crew, the Operator contributes directly to the cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) installation process, supporting the hands-on rehabilitation of sanitary and storm water. Reporting to the Superintendent and/or Foreman, this position involves operating specialized equipment, coordinating crew activities, and ensuring safe, efficient project execution from site setup to cleanup. The position collaborates closely with the team to deliver high-quality infrastructure repairs.

RESPONSIBILITIES



Work effectively with supervisors and all members of the crew to ensure successful rehabilitation and repair of a variety of sanitary and storm water lines.

Driving and backing up various trucks (1 tonne pickup, Flusher, CCTV Truck, Boiler, Refer and Vactor).

Unloading and setting up traffic controls, safety equipment, and CIPP installation equipment.

Direct operators of equipment that uses air pressure to invert liner down the manhole, through the sewer line, out the exit manhole, and then pump steam through the line to harden/cure the liner.

Manhole entry to assist in the process, physically going down the manhole to cut out the excess liner and remove it.

Ensure the site is left clean before the crew leaves.

Conduct pre and post trip inspections, hazard assessments and report all deficiencies to supervisors.

Complete appropriate quality control, assigned paperwork and safety checks.

Responsible for operating company vehicles in a professional and appropriate manner (driving to and from site, refueling, re-stocking supplies)

Maintain all equipment in good operating condition by adjusting, cleaning, lubricating, storing and preforming minor repairs as required.

Employees comply with all government and corporate safety procedures and ensure staff compliance.

QUALIFICATIONS



Experience in physical labor positions and/or outdoor construction preferred; knowledge of standard methods, materials, tools, equipment, and procedures for installing and curing CIPP pipe is an asset.

Clean driver's license (DZ or AZ preferred) or willingness to obtain DZ within 90 days of starting; company will support license upgrade.

Ability to enter and work in confined spaces, comply with safety policies, and demonstrate knowledge of occupational hazards and applicable safety precautions.

Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with crew members, stakeholders in the CIPP installation process, and the public.

Critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to complete applicable reports, records, and administrative tasks.

1st Aid, CSTS, TDG, Confined Space, and WHMIS safety tickets are assets.

Must be physically able to work outdoors in varying conditions, including occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles.

Willingness to work overtime as required.

Ability to travel out of town approximately 70% of the time (15-20% local work; 70% out-of-town Monday-Thursday with weekends home; 15% extended out-of-town rotations of 3 weeks on/1 week off).
