We are seeking people with a passion for the airlines, operations and providing outstanding support to join our crew scheduling team. Our Crew Schedulers are responsible for coordinating our crews to keep our operations fully staffed and keep our flights on time. Every shift is different, and our Crew Schedulers must take into account a variety of factors when making a schedule and must be able to make decisions under stressful conditions. Our Crew Schedulers serve a critical role within our Operations Control Centre, and this role will appeal to individuals who wish to grow their career with the fastest-growing ULCC in Canada.
This position is based in Edmonton, Alberta (YEG) and Toronto, Ontario (YYZ).
Primary Job Functions:
The duties of the Crew Scheduler include:

  • Continuously audit and verify coverage of all scheduled flights.
  • Book all crew travel and accommodation requirements, focusing on efficiency of schedule and cost.
  • Monitor flight scheduling software to ensure positioning flights are booked appropriately and meet or exceed the requirements for time free from duty and duty day limitations.
  • Maintain travel spreadsheet accuracy.
  • Assigning reserve crew members within prescribed guidelines.
  • Scheduling flight crews in accordance with Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs), Company Operations Manual (COM), and Fatigue Risk Management System (FRMS) regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Checking daily crew assignments and rescheduling crews to provide coverage, as needed.
  • Ensuring all communications to crew members are clear, concise and completed in a professional and timely manner.
  • Coordinating with suppliers, flight operations management, and crew members in times of Irregular Operations (IROPS) to resolve problems.
  • Ensuring that flight crew duty hours and days worked are maintained within legal limits as determined by the CARs regulations and FRMS.
  • Maintaining crew check-in records and flight project/actual hours.
  • Ensuring the timely and efficient coverage of all Flair flights in accordance with the CARs, contractual provisions and scheduling policies & practices.
  • Ensuring sick calls are recorded and filled in a timely manner and in accordance with company and regulatory policies and procedures
  • Maintaining records for sick calls, personal absences, late and no shows for crew members.
  • Utilizing a variety of Company software programs efficiently and correctly to perform assignments, update and log changes, and conduct research.

Qualifications and Education Requirements include:
  • High school or GED equivalent.
  • Clear criminal record check.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook) is essential.
  • Must be able to read, understand and apply CARs regulations, related legislation, and company policies and procedures.
  • Make effective decisions regarding scheduling and customer requirements for charters and other flights.
  • Previous Airline Operations Centre or Airport Operations experience is an asset.
  • Knowledge of the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CAR\xe2\x80\x99s) as they apply to 705 operations is preferred.

Required Competencies include:
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a high stress, deadline driven, ever-changing work environment while prioritizing tasks and assignments; ability to maintain composure under pressure.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and maintain organized workflow.
  • Strong communications skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Crew Schedulers must be contactable on a 24-hour, 7 day a week basis as per the shift schedule including days, nights, weekends and holidays

The starting wage for this role is $22.00 per hour and shift work is required.
