Course Description:
Practice the foundational skills required of massage therapists including draping, bolstering, positioning, informed consent, communication, self-care, body mechanics, and ergonomics. Be introduced to client assistance and transfer skills.
Course Learning Outcomes:

This blended course has an online lecture and in-person components. The instructor will use the approved curriculum; implementation of applicable curriculum assessment measures; marking and submitting final course grades. The instructor will also be required to maintain regular contact with the administration team and adhere to university policies and deadlines.

Qualifications

Post-secondary credential in a related field
Proficient understanding of the Inter-Jurisdictional Practice Competencies and Performance Indicators for Massage Therapists at Entry-to-Practice.
Working knowledge of copyright and APA citation
Excellent communication skills
Experience with accreditation
Instructional experience in an adult education environment is an asset
Strong organizational and time management skills
Self-motivated and self-directed
Proficiency with Google Workspace
Proficiency with the D2L learning management system is an asset
