About the role

We are seeking a Credit Representative - 18 Month Contract at our Head Office, which is located in South Surrey, a fast-growing area in the Campbell Height Business District.

The Credit Representative plays a key role in customer service internally with the E.B. Horsman & Son salesforce and externally with E.B. Horsman customers. They are involved in the entire process including collections, credit risk assessment, account setup, processing, and the cash applications/posting of payments. They are able to balance the needs of the customer, with the needs of the company. They represent the values of E.B. Horsman and require strong interpersonal skills around communication including negotiation, diplomacy, and follow-through. The Credit Representative will work closely under the direction of the Credit Manager & with the Accounts Receivable team, to achieve department goals that require collaboration, multi-tasking, and will include sizable dollar decision-making skills.

Position Type/Schedule

This role will be onsite based out of the Head Office. This is a full-time position, Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week. The ability for hybrid remote work will be assessed following the probationary period (3 months).

What are the Key Accountabilities?
  • Strong Business Acumen. You understand the Company and Department\'s needs and are driven to achieve results. You will be required to negotiate and be persistent with interaction over the phone and email with customers with past due invoices. You will use best practices to assess the creditworthiness of an entity and recommend appropriate credit limits.

  • Highly Organized. Responsible for managing competing priorities and deadlines. Ongoing monitoring of credit exposure and take prescribed actions to mitigate exposure if needed.
  • Collaborative Communication. Open, verbal, and written communication is integral to this role. You will be contacting a high volume of business invoicing and collections via phone and email.
  • Customer Service Orientated. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining professional, positive customer relationships, both internally and externally.
  • Highly Driven & Motivated. With our continued growth, you will be challenged in a fast-paced environment of competing priorities.
What You\'ll Bring To This Role?
  • Diploma or Degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience is an asset
  • CCP designation is a strong asset
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar risk analysis role, with knowledge of commercial law in B.C, Alberta & Saskatchewan
  • Intermediate computer skills with proficiency in MS Office & the ability to learn new software
  • Proven ability to form strategic partnerships, build relationships and respect cultural diversity
  • Strong business acumen, decision making and balance risk assessment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with demonstrated ability to consolidate large amounts of data and information into a succinct format
