THE JOB

Monday is hiring a Creative Director to join our Vancouver team. In this role, you\'ll mentor and direct our team of designers, writers and strategistss. You\'ll oversee project delivery from the moment contracts are signed, ensuring the team is operating at its best, maximizing their capacity and creativity. You can see a clear path through complex brand and marketing challenges and develop clever creative concepts (both strategic and visual) that break the mould for our clients. You are the linchpin, ensuring the right people are in the right place and that everyone is equipped to do incredible work. Along with our CEO, you\'ll also be a prominent outward face of Monday\xe2\x80\x94raising our profile by attending events, taking stages and offering thought leadership on our blog and beyond. As for the output, your standards are high but you also know how to maintain margin and keep projects moving. You trust your gut but also love to collaborate. You set goals and you reach them. Coming to work every day and making things happen with a small, collaborative, highly motivated team in a bright East Van studio sounds like a dream to you. You will report to our CEO, while working closely with the wider Monday team.
DAY TO DAY YOU WILL

  • Oversee creative delivery for our strategy and creative teams, acting as a bridge between ideas and execution, offering a consistent strategic and technical lens on deliverables
  • Mentor and manage the creative team, including designers, strategists and writers as they work towards personal and professional goals
  • Lead and oversee creative strategy and execution for clients\xe2\x80\x94assembling project teams, giving them guidance and acting as the account manager on key projects as needed
  • Work with art directors and strategists to concept campaigns and bring them to life
  • Support our project manager(s) to resource projects appropriately and ensure timeline, budget and team capacity are all on track
  • Represent Monday at industry events/groups and as a thought leader in webinars, conferences and publishing channels
  • Build trusting relationships with clients and step in to handle high-level conversations about strategy or scope as needed
  • Think big and identify new opportunities for our existing clients\xe2\x80\x94pitch ideas on a quarterly basis
  • Oversee Monday\'s own brand, in partnership with sales and creative teams and strategically allocate team resources, to bring those brand and marketing initiatives to life
  • Support sales team in pitches and proposals as required
  • Work with leadership to develop and improve processes for strategy, creative and delivery not limited to new deliverables, workshops, and product offerings
  • Advocate for the client and their project, but know when to compromise and protect budget
  • Participate in daily huddles and weekly team meetings Contribute your insights to the Monday Magazine on a quarterly basis (with the help of a writer if desired)

QUALITIES AND SKILLS YOU BRING TO THE TABLE
  • You hold a degree in design, marketing or related field or comparable experience
  • You have a minimum of 3 years\' experience managing a team in a lead creative role (Art Director or more senior) at an agency or brand.
  • You own meetings start to finish\xe2\x80\x94you come prepared and guide everyone through the process, wrapping with clear next steps and accountabilities.
  • You are an excellent facilitator\xe2\x80\x94you\'re very comfortable in front of people and you know how to ask, and reframe, the right questions to get the information you need.
  • You can see a clear path through complex information. If someone hands you a statement of work, you can think through the steps and deliverables to get the desired results on time and on budget.
  • You know how to be scrappy when the project calls for it.
  • You understand DTC retail and have a passion for how brands live across various channels. You also understand conversion and ROI, and can marry those priorities with brand priorities to grow our clients\' companies.
  • You\'re an incredible communicator and feel comfortable presenting to senior executives.
  • You have an entrepreneurial spirit and love learning.
  • You take full personal responsibility for your life and actions. You never blame\xe2\x80\x94you find solutions.
  • You are passionate about the outdoors and living an active lifestyle. You are deeply interested in technical apparel and the tools that support your outdoor pursuits.
