Creative Designer/marketing Coordinator

Job Description





Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the Creative Designer and Marketing Coordinator is responsible for creating and distributing print and online advertising/marketing content, programming and monitoring local community channel content, updating the website, implementing internet marketing campaigns, internal communications support, market research, preparing Canada Post mailings, representing Wightman at community and company events, and providing support through other duties as required. The Creative Designer and Marketing Coordinator utilizes specialized software tools to design, develop, and produce media in several formats, such as printed advertising materials, internal communications and support documents, web pages and content, and other mediums as required. The Creative Designer and Marketing Coordinator consistently demonstrate a committed to Wightman’s Vision, Mission and Values.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop, design, and proofread brochures, newsletters, online ads, posters, support documents, etc. for both internal and external audiences;
  • Maintain a consistent and effective brand message across all channels;
  • Maintain and develop web content, design, and online communications;
  • Create, test, and execute marketing campaigns;
  • Develop email marketing strategies that include delivery timing, creative layouts, tailored messages, and subject lines;
  • Integrate multimedia concepts with technical graphic design elements, as appropriate;
  • Develop marketing materials to support several areas of the organization including residential and business, Fibre to the Home, customer care, and technical support;
  • Assist with collecting marketing effectiveness data to track success rate of advertising;
  • Coordinate, prepare and deliver mailings for Canada Post;
  • Work alongside the TV Channel Producer to create video ad campaigns;
  • Program, schedule and monitor local community channel to ensure content is scheduled and runs accordingly;
  • Maintain Wightman’s marketing material inventory;
  • Coordinate and represent Wightman at community and company events including set up/tear down of booth;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in marketing, graphic design, web design, or related field;
  • Previous direct work experience in a creative, advertising, or marketing capacity is an asset;
  • Experience working with Mac OS and knowledge of PC platform;
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. Premiere Pro would also be an asset;
  • Working knowledge and experience with SEO, Google Ads and Google Analytics;
  • Working knowledge and experience with Social Media platforms;
  • Strong understanding of internet marketing principles and practices;
  • Extreme attention to detail and accuracy, as well as excellent organization skills;
  • Ability to multi-task and deliver on tight deadlines;
  • Energetic, motivated, and results-oriented;
  • Understanding of the telecommunications industry considered an asset;
  • Valid Ontario driver’s license with a clean abstract.

Working Conditions / Physical Demands

  • Manual dexterity required for use of desktop computer and peripherals.
  • This position requires moderate physical demands such as sitting for prolonged periods of times, typing, use of a computer mouse, lifting & carrying up to 50lbs, kneeling, and bending.
  • Specialized training consists of, but is not limited to; WHMIS, “Defensive Driving”, “Slips Trips & Falls”, “Proper Lifting/Carrying Techniques”, “Working Alone”, “Ladder Safety”.
