This is a seasonal full time position from June 19th - Sept 1 (11 weeks) Centre for Creative Arts Summer Camp Instructor Our Summer Camp Instructors work as a team and are responsible for the overall planning and delivery of the arts program, maintaining communication with students, parents and administration organizations and thoroughly keeping record of attendance and class outcomes. Qualifications: -Must be over the age of 18. - Preference is given to Fine Arts and Education post-secondary students and emerging artists. -Able to clear a criminal record and vulnerable sector check. -Able to exercise good judgement while working independently under minimal supervision -Excellent communications skills and interpersonal skills -Dependable and punctual, able to maintain excellent attendance -Experience as an art instructor, group leader or coach. -Thorough knowledge of and skill in a variety of art and craft practices. Formal training in fine art is an asset. -Experience working with children is an asset. Supervised by: Executive Director Key Responsibilities: -Maintaining current knowledge of CFCA emergency, safety, security, and evacuation policies and procedures. Following these procedures in the event of emergency -Accurately tracking attendance -Effectively and actively supervising all camp attendees. -Working with Executive Director and Programs Coordinator to coordinate summer program. -Working with Executive Director to set and maintain budgets for supplies and staff hours as they relate to the program. -Ordering or purchasing supplies as required for classes and approved by the Executive Director. -Planning lessons based on students interests and abilities and program budget. -Preparing for classes including setting up classroom, supplies and any necessary resource materials. -Cleaning up after classes including returning all supplies to the supply room, cleaning all tools and equipment used and ensuring classroom is left tidy. -Delivering class lessons in a professional and engaging manner. -Promoting the program to the community as directed by Executive Director. -Other tasks as assigned.
