What will you do?

This position is responsible for directing the development and implementation of Schneider Electric\xe2\x80\x99s Corporate Communication strategy in Canada to enhance the Schneider brand while capturing the hearts and minds of employees and future talent through strategic communications. The candidate will serve as a trusted advisor and counselor to the country president and senior-level business leaders to drive a culture of open and transparent dialogue to strengthen our presence in the country and to enhance employee engagement.

  • Define, develop and execute an integrated communications plan based on global strategies and local priorities that support Canadian employees and Canadian, North American, and group-level objectives.
  • Design and implement Canada\xe2\x80\x99s Country President communications agenda to internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to town halls, thought leadership, media briefings, bylines, social media, and speaking engagements.
  • Provide senior-level counsel to country leaders and act as the subject-matter expert in communications methodology and practices.
  • Work closely with the Canadian marketing team, social media, and PR agencies to develop and execute an external communications strategy to position Schneider Electric as a top provider of digital and sustainability solutions. This will entail directing the annual brand campaign and PR efforts for the country considering top tier media relations, executive thought leadership, and evaluating innovative ways to engage our audience.
  • Track and report success metrics and leverage the data to continually improve brand growth and awareness.
  • Partner with HR teams and agency to drive employer branding efforts.
  • Develop and monitor a culture of dialogue between leaders, managers, and employees.
  • Support business and people transformation efforts, designing and driving the appropriate communication plan and actions to support change management.
  • Implement a crisis communication plan aligned with corporate processes and guidelines, as needed.
  • Deploy global internal projects and campaigns aimed at country audiences.
What qualifications will make you successful?

  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree, preferably in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related discipline; Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree is a plus
  • Prefer at least 10 years of Communications or equivalent experience (as a team member and/or leader)
  • Strong communication, writing, presentation, and influencing skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and leverage relationships internally and externally to deliver results
  • Digitally oriented and able to define and deploy new digital tools and processes to improve the employee experience
  • Ability to develop and communicate an overall strategic vision that delivers business results as well as ability to execute the details
  • Proven track record of successful project management and ability to architect and drive programs that support the organization\'s employee communication and engagement and change management efforts
  • Experience in building and executing multiple programs, and ability to manage numerous priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Fluent in English, fluency and/or familiarity in Canadian French a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software applications with an emphasis on PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Yammer a plus
