Summary
We are seeking a skilled Cost Accountant/Financial Analyst to join our dynamic team in Canada. In this role, the you will responsible for costing, inventory and all significant balance sheet items analyzing reporting and supporting the Director of Finance and other management of the business by creating relevant reports and detailed analyses.
Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation of cost analysis detailed schedules by product and inventory valuations as well as analyzing financial information by performing the following duties.
Prepare detailed account analysis and reconciliations for sales, costing and inventory with associated liability accounts.
Assist in month end closing, maintain inventory roll forward, prepare journal entries as necessary, analyze inventory valuation.
Set up new Raw Material (RM), Work in Process (WIP) and Finished Goods (FG) items; create and maintain production Bill of Materials (BOM); maintain periodic costs
Analyze changes in product design, RM, manufacturing methods, or services provided to determine effects on costs. Analyze actual production costs and prepare periodic reports.
Organize, plan and coordinate cycle /physical inventory counts.
Assist in reporting requirements such as audit schedules and others.
Prepare Balance Sheet and Income Statement account reconciliations - Inventory, Fixed Assets, Cost of Goods Sold, investigate and adjust any reconciling items
Prepare monthly journal entries and reports as required
Analyze business cases for Fixed Asset acquisitions
Other duties as required, including financial modelling
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
Pursuing or obtaining a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation is a significant advantage
Proven experience as a Cost Accountant and Financial Analyst
Proficiency in ERP and excel
Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
