Job Description

The Cost Accountant produces and analyzes financial information critical to business interests as well as creates and presents reports to management regarding accounting data to enable knowledge based decision making and forecasts.Core Competencies

Job Duties
  • Prepare financial reports and records through collecting, analyzing and summarizing account information
  • Maintain financial security by researching and reconciling discrepancies; auditing and verifying documents; following internal controls; completing data backups
  • Accomplish tasks on time and contribute to the team by taking on special projects as needed
  • Responsible for maintaining banks accounts and requests
  • Stay current with all regulations, practices, tax laws, reporting requirements and industry trends
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or finance preferred
  • CPA/CMA designation or working towards preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years working experience in accounting required
  • Knowledge of accepted accounting rules, practices, tax laws, and reporting requirements
  • Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Computer literate, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel and e-mail
  • Ability to adapt to and learn fast new software
  • Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently
  • High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts
  • Able to work well under pressure and meet set deadlines
  • Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills
  • Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures
  • Attention to detail in all areas of work
Working Conditions
  • Ability to work at corporate office and remotely (hybrid)
  • Interacts with employees, management and the external stakeholders
  • Travel may be required.
  • Extensive work using computer and telephone.
  • Responsibilities may include evening and weekend work in response to needs of the customers and systems being reported.
