The Corporate Policy and Services Branch of LSI is the department's primary link with broader government. The Branch helps ensure the department aligns with and adheres to government policies, priorities, and processes, and in turn supports government decision-making.

About Our Opportunity

As the Correspondence Coordinator you will provide senior administrative and operational support to LSI and is responsible for the administrative and management of the corporate executive correspondence system and for coordinating the Ministerial Correspondence. In addition to these duties, the Correspondence Coordinator also leads the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy (FOIPOP) tracking process for the department, working closely with the Information Access and Privacy Administrators, to respond to requests.

Primary Accountabilities

  • Manages efficiently the Correspondence process (incoming and outgoing) for the department,
  • Maintains a robust, up to date, bring forward tracking system,
  • Ensures the correspondence system is achieving desired outcomes by monitoring the system on a regular basis,
  • Ensuring all documents are of professional quality by reviewing for accuracy, required content, consistent messaging, appropriate format, and correct grammar and sentence structure,
  • Will often write and edit letters and ensures completion of required responses are within scheduled timelines,
  • Ensures timely processing of FOIPOP requests.
Qualifications and Experience

This may be the right opportunity for you if you have completed a 1-year business course plus have 3 years related experience; an equivalent combination of training and experience will be considered.

You are a multi-tasker and a self-starter who is highly motivated, and results driven, with integrity and the ability to work with minimal supervision, you possess excellent judgement and an ability to balance multiple priorities under tight deadlines. Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in your work is essential, you have exceptional typing, proofreading, and grammar skills. Organizational skills and adaptability are also critical. You have experience with database management and filing. Experience with STAR/STOR will be an asset.

You value excellence in client-service, have demonstrated problem solving ability and enjoy working with people. You work well independently, and in team environments, you apply the concepts of equity, diversity, and inclusive practice to all areas of your work. You are organized, take initiative, exercise professional discretion, establish effective working relationships, confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy.

This role requires proficiency in Microsoft Office software, including Outlook, Word, and Excel, along with experience with Adobe (PDF), PowerPoint and conducting searches via the internet.

Working Conditions
  • Most of your time is spent in a comfortable office setting.

Salary Range: $1,820.12 - $2,275.14 Bi-Weekly
