About the Opportunity: The Township is looking for a motivated, organized, customer service focussed team player to join the fast-paced, high achieving, and dynamic Corporate Services team. Reporting to the Deputy Corporate Officer the Corporate Services Assistant is responsible for performing a variety of customer service and general professional administrative and clerical functions in support of the department?s operations, services, programs, and activities. This position has a variety of duties relating to the production of agendas and minutes for Council and Committee of the Whole meetings, as well as the preparation, processing, distribution and review of correspondence, documents, and reports related to the department?s work, including administering the department?s general email addresses and mail logs. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being challenged, building strong relationships, is skilled in optimizing business processes, preparing, and editing a variety of documents, performing other office duties following prescribed procedures and guidelines, and has the ability to work flexible hours when required.
Our Preferred Candidate: The preferred candidate will have graduated high school or equivalent supplemented by courses in office administration, local government, or public administration and one year of related office experience, preferably in corporate administration in local government. This position is best suited for someone who is looking to grow a career in public administration and thrives in an environment where accuracy is essential, and deadlines are met. Candidates must demonstrate superior interpersonal, communication, organizational, time management, research, analytical, and problem-solving skills. A strong customer focus, flexibility, adaptability, and initiative in a changing work environment are equally important.
Salary: $31.41 ? $33.87 hourly plus benefits (2023 rates) Hours per week: 35 (will occasionally be required to attend evening meetings outside of regular working hours)
