The Company

Our Niagara area client has been in business for almost 100 years. They are a publicly traded corporation headquartered in the US with operations across the globe. They boast customers in over 100 countries across various industries. This is a hybrid position, requiring 3 days/week in the office.

The Role

The Corporate Controller reports to the Canadian CFO in the Canadian head office. The Corporate Controller has 9 direct reports and is responsible for all accounting, financial reporting, treasury, tax, payroll and cash management. You will have responsibility for the organization\'s Financial operations across the country including several distribution centres in Western, Central and Eastern Canada.

About You

You are a designated CPA with a minimum of 7-10 years\' experience in publicly traded companies with 7+ years in progressively senior management roles. Your background is predominately in global distribution companies. In this role, since you will interface with colleagues at all levels including the Canadian leadership team and executives in the US head office, exceptional written and verbal communication skills are mandatory. Preference will be given to Controllers with Big 4 or Big 6 CPA firm experience.

Your Skills & Experience
- CPA designation
- Public company experience
- Previous experience managing a busy Finance team and overall oversight for the month-end close and financial reporting process
- Past responsibility for accounting, reporting, tax, treasury, cash management and payroll
- Past distribution experience, preferably in a multi-location environment
- Large ERP experience and advanced Excel skills
- Knowledge of US GAAP
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

- Responsible for all facets of the Company\'s Canadian financial reporting
- Accounting, payroll, treasury, taxation, and cash flow management responsibilities
- Leads the preparation of financial statements and supporting information which meets all corporate Company reporting deadlines
- This role provides accurate and timely executive finance management direction to the corporate office and field branch management which accurately reflects the overall performance of the Company
- Leads, manages, and develops a team of accounting and payroll professionals who work collaboratively with others, aligned with Corporate Values
- Responsible for the establishment and monitoring of proper internal controls to safeguard the Company\'s assets in compliance with global corporate policies and adherence to Sarbanes Oxley requirements
- Responsible for all banking and treasury matters, ensuring compliance with income and indirect tax legislation
- Development, implementation and coordination of all payroll policies and practices throughout the Company, ensuring compliance with applicable legislation
