JOB SUMMARY The Corporate Communications Specialist is responsible for supporting the execution of Medline Canada\xe2\x80\x99s external and internal communications plan to grow brand awareness and help accelerate top-line sales growth. This position will support the Director of Communications in planning and executing internal and external communications strategy. Primary areas of focus will be working with key internal stakeholders to plan and execute internal communications and events related to HR/Employee Engagement and general business related communications, including publishing management of Medline Canada\xe2\x80\x99s internal communications portal, the Source. Externally, the Communications Specialist will play a key role in scheduling, developing and delivering content through Medline Canada\xe2\x80\x99s Social Media channels, supported by an external agency. This role requires: a strong passion for writing, social media management experience, high comfort level working with senior leadership, keen attention to detail, and communications acuity, with an ability to engage various audiences with powerful stories and a consistent Medline voice. Position Type: Full-time Location: Mississauga, ON (Hybrid) Reports to: Director, Corporate Communications CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Internal Communications \xe2\x80\x93 functional communications counsel, develop and execution of communications plans and tactics.

  • Experience assessing, counselling on and managing sensitive internal/external reputation issues

  • Social Media planning, scheduling, developing and executing channel and Corp messages via Medline Canada social channels. Experience leveraging paid social promotion and tracking/analyzing results that can be used to optimize social channel strategy.

  • Ongoing management of, and publishing on, Canada\xe2\x80\x99s internal communications portal \xe2\x80\x93 The Source.

  • Managing and developing brand marketing and media relations content \xe2\x80\x93 ie. Articles, press releases

  • Support on Corp Communications flagship events \xe2\x80\x93 including Annual Employee Kick Offs, quarterly Town Halls

  • Interacting with and project managing external agency activity outputs

  • Experience assessing, counselling on and managing sensitive internal/external reputation issues

QUALIFICATIONS
  • BA or equivalent from and accredited post-secondary institution with a major in Public Relations, Media and Communications, Marketing or English
  • 3-4 years of experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge of social apps \xe2\x80\x93 LinkedIn, Twitter, IG and Facebook
  • Experience with Loomly Social Scheduler or equivalent, MS Sharepoint, Magento or equivalent content publishing (Nice to have), Adobe \xe2\x80\x93 Photoshop or equivalent (Nice to have), and MSOffice - Outlook, Word, Powerpoint, Excel
