The Corporate Business Continuity Planning Lead will be based out of Dieppe, New Brunswick (100 Midland Drive, E1A 7G9) or Toronto, Ontario (1551 Weston Road, M6M 4Y4) and performs and coordinates business continuity, emergency management, and disaster recovery planning and research work. Work involves developing procedures for implementing operational plans; and procedures for measuring progress. May supervise the work of others. Works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. This position will report into the Supply Chain Team but will be responsible to support the whole ICP/IPC Business Continuity Plan. This is a permanent, full-time position. The primary language of work is English.

Job Requirements

  • Working knowledge of BCP, disaster recovery, crisis management, and supplier risk and contingency solutions.
  • Ability to identify, and prioritize business risks and impacts, develop and execute appropriate responses.
  • Experience in creating and defining new operational procedures.
  • Strong leadership skills, particularly project management, influence and relationship building, and conflict identification and resolution. The BCP program leader\'s success depends heavily on cooperation and commitment from every level of Irving Consumer Products\' business
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills (ability to structure problems
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organization and with external partners and stakeholders.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a time sensitive manner while maintaining quality of work.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and remain calm during high volume periods.
  • High degree of self-motivation and professionalism.
The main duties/responsibilities of this role include:
  • Develop and manage BCP program components, including program governance and program operating frameworks.
  • Conduct, communicate, and maintains business continuity lifecycle planning, coordinate the development, review, and evaluation of risk assessment, business impact analysis and business continuity plans.
  • Facilitate the development of the BCP program disciplines that address the response, recovery, restoration, and resilience needs of the entire enterprise as defined by the business impact assessments.
  • Engage business units in business impact analysis to identify critical business resources and dependencies (identifying people, process, data, technology, and other infrastructural resources as well as internal and external dependencies).
  • Help business units identify and evaluate plans for the recovery of critical business resources. Guide business units to select appropriate cost-effective strategies to recover critical business resources. Coordinate contingency planning and documentation, identify potential business interruptions, develop safeguards against these interruptions, and implement recovery procedures in the event of a business interruption.
  • Facilitate the development and delivery of a testing regime to drive ongoing improvement of the response, recovery and restoration strategies and plans to ensure that Irving Consumer Products can effectively respond, manage, and recover from major disruptions as a result of a broad range of current, emerging or newly recognized threats.
  • Design and implement an enterprise wide BCP awareness and education program to ensure that nominated responders and business continuity plan owners are competent to carry out their roles.
  • Ensure that all Irving Consumer Products\xe2\x80\x99 personnel clearly understand their responsibilities before, during and after a business disruption.
  • Coordinate the enterprise\'s response, recovery, and restoration activities.
