Job Description

Role impact: The Corporate Accountant is a specialist in accounting who maintains financial records that comply with accounting standards, laws and regulations as well as internal policies.
What you will deliver: Take ownership of the accounting of a portfolio of investments and relevant corporate entities (primarily International) by completing tasks that include the following:

• Daily preparation and recording of journal entries
• Performing treasury functions such as bank reconciliations, wire transfers and draw-downs
• Monthly debt (external) reconciliations
• Preparation of fund flows for large or complex transactions
• Compile information related to audit queries
• Communicate with various Cadillac Fairview business groups to reconcile intercompany transactions
• Support the budget process for corporate entities
• Assist in the preparation of quarterly financial results, reporting packages and financial statements
• Various special duties or ad hoc task as assigned

• Strong analytical, organizational and administrative skills
• Focused on process optimization and driving efficiency through the implementation of technology
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to produce high quality reports
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and to interact at all organizational levels

What you need to succeed:

• Post-secondary education, professional accounting designation completed or in progress (CPA or equivalent) or intent to pursue a career in accounting
• Minimum 1-2 years of relevant accounting experience, real estate experience an asset
• Fully computer literate, with extensive excel skills
• Familiarity with IFRS is an asset
• Familiarity with accounting for impact of foreign exchange an asset
• Knowledge of Yardi Voyager an asset
