This reputable business needs someone to handle matching invoices to purchase orders and/or vouchers, data entry, and assisting in the process of Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R) as their new Accountant. This permanent Accountant position is located in the Don Mills, Ontario, area. This position comes with terrific benefits, a wonderful work space/office, and a dynamic team culture.Major responsibilities- Support accounts payable by filing vendor invoice and disbursements and by matching & filing A/P invoices- Add financial information to journals and ledgers- Use knowledge of expenditure codes and accounting codes to accurately code documents- Support Accounts Receivable by processing daily invoices/credit, applying cash receipts, and helping with collection of past due balances- Reconcile discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts; prepare correction documents as required- Assist with general accounting tasks, including G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, and other ad hoc projects- Prepare statements and reports that require utilization of a variety of sources- Assist with other related duties and special projects as assignedRequirements:- Spreadsheet and ERP system experience is a plus- 3+ years of accounting experience required- Expertise in Accounts Payable (AP)- Practical knowledge of QuickBooks- Data entry experience- General familiarity with Oracle- Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Excel- SAP experience highly preferred- Foundational knowledge in billing- Account reconciliation experience- Adeptness in Invoice Processing- Strong familiarity with Accounts Receivable (AR)- Ability to multitask and communicate well with individuals of all backgrounds- AA or BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred
