Our operations are expanding in 2026, and we are hiring Core Logger- Geologist to join our field team. Join us on a 3-6 month contract, with a chance to stay longer!

Summary

Reporting to the designated-on site Project Manager or Senior Project Geologists in absence of project manager.Job duties in general may include all facets of mineral exploration work in Canadian or international projects. The main duties are to log diamond drill core, take detailed geological, structural, alteration, and mineralization descriptions of the core, sample mineralized sections, monitor drill progress, and ensure all data collected from assigned drill are accurate. Assistance with drill management is expected, and contributions to the geological interpretation of the project, as well as organizing and batching samples and moving core boxes that may weigh up to 50 lbs.

Key Responsibilities

Work with exploration project team to conduct exploration activities, including but not limited to: drill core logging and sampling, collecting detailed lithological, alteration, mineralization, and veining and structural data. Further collection of structural data occurs from oriented drill core, plus maintaining and monitoring core processing workflows and procedures ensuring high quality and accurate data. Contribute to geological interpretation of the project areas including data integration mapping, creating cross sections, 3D modelling, and preparing recommendations for subsequent exploration. Drill management including sighting drill pads, line-ups, monitoring daily production, ensuring the integrity of downhole surveys, and pre- and post drilling inspections. Prepare/contribute to technical reports and presentations on real-time exploration program results and highlights. Promote a strong safety culture by ensuring that all exploration activities are conducted in accordance with Health and Safety Policies. Commit to workplace health and safety and the ability to maintain the highest standards of quality in all aspects of work is required. Provide active leadership by assisting in the supervision of geotechnicians and core cutters as well as providing mentorship to junior colleagues. Perform other duties as reasonably assigned.

Education and Qualifications

Completion, or near completion of a B.Sc. degree in geology/earth science from an accredited university. Eligible for professional registration as a GIT. Minimum of 1-4 years previous experience in core logging and drill management within an exploration role and a firm understanding of core processing workflows, including oriented drill core. Experience with Archean rocks, as well as Archean and VMS deposits is an asset. Legally entitled to work in Canada. A full Drivers Licence is a MUST

Preferred Skills and Experience

Strong computer skills with proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and GIS/modelling software including ArcPro, ArcMap, QGIS, Leapfrog Geo, as well as logging programs such as MXDeposit, AcQuire, ioGAS, etc. Experience in geological mapping of structurally controlled economic deposits is an asset. Demonstrate the ability to operate within a rapidly changing, high-demand work environment and re-prioritize tasks as directed by exploration program needs. Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision. Outstanding communication and time management skills. Ability to work in challenging physical environments in all weather conditions. Ability to safely lift and carry core boxes and other objects up to 50 lbs. The core logging geologist roles are fly-in/fly-out positions, working on rotational schedule of 2-3 weeks on and approximately 10 days to 2 weeks off. Ability to work and live in a remote camp setting for extended time periods. Familiarity with work around helicopters. Understanding the project's start and end dates are often hard to determine due to seasonal weather conditions.
