Notre equipe continue de croitre, et nous sommes a la recherche d'un(e) Coordonnateur(trice) Sante, Securite et Environnement (SSE) pour soutenir nos employes dans l'adoption de pratiques securitaires. Le ou la titulaire du poste sera responsable des fonctions liees a la sante, la securite et l'environnement pour l'ensemble des installations de geochimie de ALS au Quebec. Son role consistera a coordonner et a assurer la communication des responsabilites et des programmes SSE entre les differents sites de l'entreprise. Le ou la coordonnateur(trice) agira egalement a titre de representant(e) de l'entreprise aupres des autorites reglementaires et des instances locales, au besoin. Cette personne collaborera etroitement avec l'equipe SSE nord-americaine pour developper, soutenir et implanter des politiques, des initiatives et favoriser une culture SSE forte et integree.
Responsabilites specifiques:

  • Coordonner les elements cles du systeme de gestion Sante, Securite et Environnement (SSE).
  • Soutenir le/la gestionnaire SSE dans la preparation des audits, des rapports reguliers et des enquetes d'incidents en lien avec le systeme de gestion SSE de ALS / Geochimie.
  • Apporter un soutien a l'equipe des operations sur toutes les questions liees a la SSE.
  • Realiser des projets specifiques visant l'amelioration continue des programmes et initiatives SSE.
  • Identifier et appuyer des actions visant a ameliorer la performance SSE des sites, en s'appuyant sur son expertise technique, les evaluations de risques et les tendances actuelles.
  • Travailler de maniere proactive avec les equipes operationnelles et les autorites pour gerer efficacement les reclamations, implanter des plans de retour au travail et assurer les communications avec la CNESST.
  • Effectuer des analyses de risques au besoin et assurer un suivi rigoureux des mesures de controle mises en place.
  • Contribuer aux activites de reduction des risques SSE.
  • Mettre a profit son expertise d'auditeur(trice) sur les procedures et les exigences legales pour conseiller les gestionnaires et les employes.
  • Diriger les revues de gestion SSE et agir a titre d'expert(e) en matiere de risques SSE lies aux operations.
  • Participer aux enquetes d'accidents et d'incidents, et identifier les causes fondamentales.
  • Mettre a jour les registres internes concernant les accidents, les incidents, et les mesures correctives.
  • Deployer des plans d'action pour assurer la conformite continue avec la legislation en vigueur et les normes internes de ALS.
  • Communiquer avec les autorites provinciales en matiere de gestion des blessures, des reclamations et des plans de retour au travail.
  • Respecter les reglements de securite etablis et se conformer a toutes les politiques et procedures SSE de ALS.
  • Effectuer toute autre tache connexe au besoin.
Qualifications requises:
  • Diplome d'etudes collegiales ou universitaires en administration des affaires ou dans un domaine pertinent.
  • Minimum de 3 ans d'experience en sante, securite et environnement (SSE).
  • Bilinguisme francais et anglais.
  • Passion manifeste pour la sante, la securite et les activites connexes.
  • Grande rigueur et souci du detail soutenu.
  • Capacite demontree a atteindre les objectifs de travail et a respecter les echeanciers.
  • Aptitude a apprendre rapidement, tout en respectant les processus et procedures etablis.
  • Capacite a travailler de facon autonome avec un minimum de supervision.

Exigences physiques:
  • Porter l'equipement de protection individuelle (EPI) fourni, tel que masque antipoussiere, gants, etc., selon les besoins.
  • Etre en mesure de rester assis a un bureau pour effectuer des taches administratives generales, incluant des periodes de travail sedentaire.
  • Capacite a utiliser et a regarder un ecran d'ordinateur jusqu'a 8 heures par jour.
  • Aptitude a communiquer par telephone et courriel de maniere autonome.
  • Possibilite de se deplacer sur les differents sites, par voiture ou avion.
  • Veuillez noter que ALS fonctionne 24 heures sur 24, 7 jours sur 7, et le poste necessite de travailler de jour, de soir et de nuit, incluant les fins de semaine.

We are growing again and seeking a Health, Safety and Environmental Coordinator to further empower our employees to work safely. The HSE Coordinator, Quebec will oversee safety, health, and environmental functions across ALS Quebec Geochemistry facilities. This role focuses on coordinating and communicating HSE responsibilities and programs between business locations. The HSE Coordinator will represent ALS by liaising with regulatory agencies and local authorities as needed. This role will collaborate with the North American HSE team to develop, support, and implement policies and initiatives and drive HSE cultural integration.
Specific Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate key elements of our HSE management system
  • Support the HSE manager in preparation of audit materials, regular reports, and incident investigations in support of the ALS / Geochemistry HSE Management System
  • Support the operational team on HSE matters
  • Undertake specific project work as required to support continuous improvement of HSE programs and initiatives
  • Identify and support actions which will improve overall site HSE based on technical knowledge, risk assessment, and current trends
  • Pro-actively work with operations and authorities to manage claims efficiently, implement return to work plans and manage communications with CNESST
  • Undertake risk assessments as required, while proactively following up on control measures
  • Support HSE risk mitigation activities
  • Leverage your auditor knowledge on procedures and legal requirements to advise employees and managers accordingly
  • Lead HSE Management reviews and become a subject matter expert on HSE risks associated with our operations
  • Support in the investigation of accidents and near misses, work to establish root cause
  • Update internal records regarding incidents, near misses, and corrective actions
  • Undertake action plans to ensure continued, sustained compliance with legislation and ALS standards
  • Communicate with provincial authorities regarding injury management, claims and return to work plans
  • Observe established safety regulations and comply with all ALS health and safety policies and procedures;
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
  • College or university degree in business administration or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in HSE
  • Bi-Lingual in English and French
  • Bring a passion for HSE and related activities
  • Possess a meticulous level of sustained attention-to-detail
  • Proven ability to meet work targets and deadlines
  • Ability to learn quickly, while closely adhering to new processes and procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently at times under minimum levels of supervision

Physical Demands:
  • Wear issued personal protective equipment (PPE) such as dust masks, gloves etc., when required;
  • Ability to sit at a desk and do general office work, which includes periodic sedentary responsibilities;
  • Ability to use and view a computer screen for up to 8hrs/day;
  • Ability to communicate via telephone and email without assistance
  • Ability to travel to sites via car or plane
  • Please note that ALS operates 24/7 and will require day, afternoon, and graveyard shift work including weekends.
