(BCIB) is the provincial Crown Corporation responsible for implementing the Community Benefits Agreement (CBA) on select public infrastructure projects. The Coordinator, Workforce Equity and Recruitment for Vancouver Island will oversee the implementation of outreach and recruitment strategies for current and upcoming Vancouver Island Projects. The coordinator\xe2\x80\x99s primary responsibilities will include working within a multi-disciplinary team to connect people in the community by cultivating relationships with equity groups, individuals, and other relevant organizations for the purpose of supporting recruitment for all CBA projects in Vancouver Island. Reporting to the Director, Workforce Planning and Placement, this position is based in Vancouver Island and works closely with the Team Lead, Workforce Equity and Recruitment (Lower Mainland) and the Workforce Planning and Placement (Indigenous Relations) Specialist. This role is based out of Vancouver Island (prefer Duncan region). Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Collaborate internally to design and maintain the quarterly outreach and recruitment strategy.
Coordinate the implementation of the quarterly strategy by mapping and engagement of key community support organizations that support equity groups and local applicants.
Collaborate internally on a regular basis to proactively identify the future hiring needs.
Manage the Outreach Calendar for Vancouver Island and ensures outreach attendance aligns with the forecasted labour needs.
Deliver in person and virtual sessions and organize job fairs- in person information sessions for local and equity cohorts and candidates.
Manage Job fair/orientation follow up process and documentation. Work internally and externally (e.g., Employment support organizations) to create and maintain a process flow which addressed technical accessibility challenges.
Build and maintain relationships with equity stakeholders and support organizations and ensure their timely orientation to BCIB and the CBA while promoting CBA project\xe2\x80\x99s Respectful Onsite Initiative.
Establish and maintain a schedule for routine check-ins/visits with stakeholders/partners and keep them updated to current and upcoming labour forecast demands
Act as the point contact while building relationships with influential support organization and contractors, as well as candidates during the selection process. Includes but not limited to engagement and recruitment with various external interested party, hosting BCIB 101 and information sessions, as well as identifying opportunities for collaboration and partnership.
Collaborates cross functionally with Site Operations, Communications, Indigenous Relations, and ROI to ensure synchronization of WFPP outreach and recruitment initiatives and activities.
Collaborates with project contractor and sub-contractor through site operations team to ensure up to date demand concerns are noted and addressed.
Perform administrative functions related to outreach and recruitment as and when necessary.
Desired Skills & Qualifications
Proven experience as a recruiter preferred.
Experience working with marginalized populations and/or targeted equity groups considered an asset.
Experience working within employment services sector considered an asset.
Outgoing personality with the flexibility and ability to deal with external stakeholder.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and engagement skills.
Familiar with the use of Salesforce client management system considered an asset.
Driven by goals and focused on meting and exceeding targets.
Education and Experience
Degree in Human Resources with a focus on recruitment considered an asset.
At least 2 years of experience with Community Engagement and/or outreach-based recruitment required.
A connection to or experience working within the trades is considered an asset.
Communications, marketing, or sales experience considered an asset.
A valid BC Driver\xe2\x80\x99s license and access to a vehicle required.
Must be able to travel within the province as and when required.
