Position Overview

Under the general supervision of the Human Resources Manager and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface Hospital, the WCB Coordinator is responsible for initiating and coordinating all employer submissions to the WCB (healthcare treatment and time loss), initiating and coordinating WCB investigations, and reporting. The WCB Coordinator is the primary point of contact for day-to-day WCB enquiries at St. Boniface Hospital.

Experience

  • Two (2) years of experience working in employee benefits administration or a suitable combination of experience within Human Resources will be considered
  • Experience with Computerease and/or SAP or experience working within a Human Resources Information System is preferred
NOTE: An equivalent combination of education and experience, as deemed recognized by the Hospital may be considered in lieu of the above

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • College diploma or equivalent Grade XII and prior benefits experience
  • Post Secondary training in Occupational Health & Safety

  • Proficiency in the use of Excel and Word
  • On the job training and attendance at WCB sessions
  • Ability to interpret aspects of Manitoba's WCB Act

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Excellent interviewing skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to organize and prioritize a high workload under competing demands with frequent interruptions

  • Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively and prioritize demands to meet deadlines
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Ability to retain information which is of a confidential nature
