This role will report to the Manager, Security Operations Scotiabank Arena for delivery while working closely with the Security Programs and Safety teams for program and operational support.

  • Provide leadership, management and oversight of all events and Guards (event & facility) at all venues in accordance with MLSE policies, processes and standard operating procedures
  • Ensure guard team and contractors have the skills, tools, equipment and procedures for effective security operations
  • Lead/oversee operational events providing excellent security services and customer service
  • Develops security plans, procedures and post orders related to the operation of the facilities and the team activities for the Toronto Raptors, Toronto Maple Leafs and LIVE events
  • Acts as the security primary point of contact for the league and team security representatives for arena and stadium matters during events
  • Develops and maintains cooperative working relationships with appropriate team personnel, facility personnel, contractors, local law enforcement, other MLSE employees
  • Manage and address the functionality of and requirements for safety and security infrastructure including CCTV, access control, doors/locks, fences, AEDs, first aid kits/supplies and other infrastructure and supplies that are part of the safety and security program
  • Continues to look for efficiencies and modernization of systems and programs including security infrastructure and design
  • Assists in the development of guard procedures and training programs
  • Applies and executes MLSE security policies, procedures, and standards,
  • Provides mentorship and input on facility security requirements and operations to MLSE Corporate Safety & Security,
  • Provides access control to team spaces and practice areas at the team\xe2\x80\x99s facilities
  • Plans for, directs, and supervises contracted security service personnel in accordance with services contracts
  • Facilitates player and employee arrivals, departures, and movements within the team facilities
  • Conducts regular safety and security assessments, and reviews, related to the facilities
  • Ensures all league submittals relating to security are completed prior to and post-game
  • Responsible to assist in the development of budgets and meeting budget targets
  • Assists with the identification of and development business cases to replace systems/infrastructure
  • Reports security incidents, issues, and concerns to MLSE Security and Safety Programs, and
  • Performs other security related duties as advised


Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years of recent, related experience in a large venue or facility operational role
  • Transformative leader able to drive results through influence and collaboration
  • Experience managing large teams is critical
  • Report writing, investigations, and document management skills required
  • Proven results in delivering outstanding customer service
  • Experience in security screening and management of security systems
  • Experience with training others is considered an asset
  • Experience creating user materials; presentations, quick reference guides, manuals
  • Collaborative and articulate team player
  • Focused and detail oriented
  • A positive, friendly, and collaborative approach incorporating the desire to support others in success
  • Ability to perform well under pressure, multi-task, and meet multiple deadlines at once
  • Able to work evenings, weekends, holiday and on call \xe2\x80\x93 this is a operationally intensive role
  • Excellent Microsoft office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel)
  • Excellent problem solving, conflict management and critical thinking skills
