Job Description

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating shipments to and from the Redpath Mobile Shop, as well as the loading and unloading of mining equipment. Additional responsibilities include organizing the shop complex yard, managing snow removal, maintaining asset documentation, and coordinating complex inspections.



Organize and coordinate shipments of mining equipment and related materials to ensure timely and efficient deliveries. Efficiently and safely operate loaders and forklifts to support the loading and unloading of shipments, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and contributing to streamlined warehouse operations Schedule, oversee and perform the safe and orderly loading and unloading of heavy equipment onto and off of transport vehicles. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of equipment status and location. Coordinate and track asset transfers, including preparation and management of all related documentation. Maintain and organize the equipment yard for efficiency and safety. Oversee or perform snow removal in yard and equipment access areas to maintain operational continuity during winter months. Prepare and verify pre-ship requirements including commissioning documents, diesel permits, fire suppression reports, manuals, spare items etc. Schedule and coordinate complex inspections with internal teams and external inspectors, these inspections include, but are not limited to, building assessments, sling integrity evaluations, and environmental site visits conducted by GFL. Communicate effectively with drivers, operators, and internal departments to ensure seamless logistics. Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety regulations, and legal transport requirements.

Education


Required: High School Diploma


Preferred: Post-secondary education or certification in logistics, supply chain, or transportation management is preferred. Class 7 or D Forklift certificate.


Work Experience


Required: 1-3 years related experience in shipping/receiving, inventory control, warehousing and operation of heavy equipment.


Preferred: 3-5 years of hands-on experience in a mining environment, specializing in shipping and receiving operations, inventory management, and warehouse logistics. Proficient in operating heavy equipment including loaders, forklifts, and related machinery.
