Job Duties:

Reporting to the Director, Quality and Technical, the incumbent will be responsible for coordinating all continuous improvement processes and test preparation.

Specifically, the candidate will:

  • Coordinate efforts to improve all mill processes, from manufacturing to administration (e.g., purchasing, accounting)
  • Participate in monthly steering and selection meetings for continuous improvement projects
  • Provide expertise and training on the use of continuous improvement tools for all mill members
  • Stay abreast of improvement opportunities within our operations
  • Interact with management and supervisory teams to promote continuous improvement
  • Provide the statistics necessary for decision-making when testing, problem-solving, or seizing an opportunity for improvement
  • Coordinate and monitor AIM (advance initiative to market) projects. Take part in AIM committee meetings. Assess the relevance and feasibility of new products at their initial stage.
  • Provide information needed for testing and take part in testing follow-ups
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering or other relevant disciplines
  • Comprehensive knowledge of continuous improvement tools (Black Belt, Lean Manufacturing)
  • A minimum of five years of experience in manufacturing, preferably in the pulp and paper industry
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Leadership and open-mindedness.
