About the Role

The Coordinator, Communications and Marketing assists in developing, planning, and executing the communication strategy for various stakeholders within Students Services and the Faculties. The Coordinator leads and manages the development and implementation of strategic communications activities for Student Services units and the wider University community in collaboration with internal and external stakeholder groups. The position works closely with the supervisor and with other communication practitioners and committees in Student Services and across the Faculties to oversee the production of marketing and communication materials, and continually assesses their quality, effectiveness, and alignment with institution-wide initiatives. The Coordinator reports findings to key stakeholder\'s university-wide and recommends improvements. The role collaborates with the Business Analysis and Assessment team in delivering and developing email and marketing automation capabilities to optimize recruiting efforts and the student experience.

Qualifications

Bachelor\'s degree in communications, marketing, or a related discipline, with four years\' experience in developing communications and/or marketing strategies, website content management and basic design, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  • Excellent knowledge of communication, promotion and marketing principles, practices and strategies using digital and print media.
  • Excellent knowledge of website development, online content management systems, social media applications, and performance measurement tools.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Campaigner email platform, Salesforce customer relationship management platform, and in particular its campaign and marketing automation structures and capabilities.
  • Excellent knowledge of contemporary collaborative tools (i.e. Asana, Slack, and Google Drive).
  • Excellent knowledge of print and electronic media, social media, and desktop publishing applications.
  • Excellent research, copy editing, and copy writing skills.
  • Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and project management skills.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal and presentation).
  • Excellent teamwork, leadership, and relationship management skills.
  • Skilled in organizing administrative and planning systems, and drafting procedures, and reports.
  • Ability to coordinate content production and workflow.
  • Ability to exercise mature judgment, initiative, diplomacy, and tact; and to appropriately handle private student information.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others.
