Your opportunity:
Reporting to the Director, Sport and Rec and taking day-to-day direction from the Manager, Child and Youth, the incumbent provides professional and dynamic leadership to the Faculty's Child and Youth program. The incumbent is responsible for assisting in the development, direction and implementation of comprehensive, broad-based programs and events.
Your responsibilities will include:
Determining logistical details and activities for events and/or programming
Resolving issues within the scope of the role and escalating problems as required
Implementing plans and process improvements for program activities
Fostering cooperative working relationships with a wide variety of internal and external contacts
Responding to enquiries within the defined scope of the role and redirecting as appropriate
Coordinating the recruitment process and training of casual staff
Coordinating staff schedule to ensure proper coverage
Directing the activities of casual staff
Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education or Sport Administration or an equivalent acceptable combination of education and experience. Standard First Aid, Basic CPR
Minimum two years experience planning, developing and implementing children's sport and recreation programs for a diverse range of clients
Familiarity with the theories and legislation related to child safety and supervision
Minimum two years experience scheduling athletic programs
Experience providing oversight and guidance to casual employees
Strong written and oral communication skills
Strong organizational skills
Demonstrated conflict resolution and problem solving skills
Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
Detail oriented
Ability and desire to take initiative
Ability to remain professional in high pressure situations
Ability to exercise sound judgment

Schedule:
Full-Time. The schedule will be Wednesday - Sunday throughout the year and will be Monday - Friday for the months of July and August. Hours of work to align with program schedules and will include evenings and weekends.
Pay Scale Group & Hiring Zone:
USW Pay Band 09 - $67,916 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $86,855. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
