Responsibilities:
- Preparing Lunch and/or Dinner from scratch in the kitchen of a retirement community
- Control all stock in the kitchen, ensuring maximum use and minimum waste
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations
- Ensure efficient workflow and timely service
Qualifications:
- Culinary experience in a high volume or (equivalent banquet) experience - Cooking from scratch and batch volume experience necessary
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, culinary trends, and food safety standards
- Exceptional organizational and time management abilities
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Clean criminal record check - Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced, high volume environment
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
Typical Hours are: 7:00am - 3:00pm or 10:30am - 6:30pm
