We are seeking a passionate and part-time cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities and a deep understanding of kitchen operations, food safety, and hospitality. As the part-time cook you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, kitchen staff supervision, inventory management, and compliance with food safety regulations. You will play a key leadership role in creating a high-quality dining experience for our residents, while also ensuring the kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently.
Responsibilities
Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and dietary guidelines.
Menu planning to ensure a diverse and appealing selection of dishes.
Maintain high standards of food safety and sanitation throughout the kitchen.
Handle food with care, ensuring proper food handling techniques are followed.
Collaborate with team members to ensure timely meal service and catering events.
Utilize knife skills effectively for meal preparation and presentation.
Provide excellent customer service when serving meals to guests.
Support the dietary department by assisting with inventory management and food storage practices.
Participate in training programs to enhance culinary skills and knowledge of dietary needs.
Requirements
Previous experience in a dietary department or as a dietary aide is preferred.
Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen operations.
Experience in fine dining or restaurant settings is a plus.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices is essential.
Excellent knife skills and attention to detail in meal preparation are required.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of service.
Strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members and guests.
