Duties
Prepare and assemble meals according to established recipes and dietary guidelines, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met
Assist with menu planning by suggesting creative dishes and accommodating special dietary needs
Handle food safely by following proper food handling procedures, sanitation standards, and safety protocols
Cook a variety of dishes with precision using knife skills and cooking techniques suitable for different cuisines and meal types
Support food service operations by serving meals efficiently and courteously to customers or residents
Participate in food preparation activities such as chopping, mixing, portioning, and plating to ensure timely delivery of meals
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, utensils, and equipment in compliance with health regulations
Contribute to catering events or special functions by preparing large quantities of food while maintaining quality standards
Follow all food safety regulations diligently to prevent contamination and ensure the highest standards of hygiene are upheld
Collaborate with team members to optimize kitchen workflow and improve overall service delivery
Skills
Proven experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide within healthcare or hospitality settings
Strong background in menu planning and meal preparation tailored to diverse dietary requirements
Extensive culinary experience with fine dining or restaurant environments preferred
Skilled in food handling, cooking techniques, and food safety practices across various cuisines
Excellent knife skills for efficient prep work and precision cutting
Experience in food service operations including serving, plating, and presentation skills
Knowledge of the food industry standards related to catering, meal prep, and kitchen management
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
Strong communication skills for effective teamwork and customer interaction
