Position Summary
As a Cook, you will play a key role in providing residents and visitors with high-quality, nutritionally balanced meals. You will prepare and serve food safely and efficiently, ensuring all dietary needs and preferences are met, while maintaining exemplary standards of customer service, cleanliness, and safety.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare meals following approved recipes, ensuring portion control, proper temperature, and appealing food presentation
Manage food preparation for special seasonal events and catering as required
Review residents' regular and therapeutic diets, dietary restrictions, and food allergies, and communicate this information to staff
Maintain accurate records, including menu changes, food orders, delivery receipts, and temperature checks
Communicate effectively with team members and other departments to support smooth operations
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment
Qualifications
Valid Safe Food Handlers certificate required; chef training or culinary management diploma preferred
Minimum two years of cooking experience in a hotel, restaurant, or institutional setting preferred
Familiarity with therapeutic diets and nutritional standards for seniors is an asset
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
Availability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
