COOK Part-Time (Permanent) - BEAVERLODGE

The Cook is responsible for efficiently delivering food services in senior housing facilities. In addition to this, when scheduled to work statutory holidays, this role is also responsible for the supervision of staff and residents, ensuring the efficient delivery of housekeeping and food services relating to their core duties.

NOTE: Applicants residing in Beaverlodge preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of the Canada Food Guide and special diets (i.e. diabetics) Understanding of nutritional requirements of senior citizens A congenial personality who enjoys working with and for the elderly Ability to stay calm in emergencies Good communication skills Patience, time management skills, and the ability to work independently Ability to maintain a harmonious relationship with staff and public Must be physically fit and be able to bend, lift and climb Able to pass Vulnerable Sector criminal record check Ability to carry out responsibilities listed in the Cook's job description
Minimum Qualifications:

Completion of High School Diploma or equivalent Bonafide cooking courses and cooking experience Supervisiory experience is an asset A combination of experience and qualifications will be considered Food Safe, WHMIS, First Aid, and CPR certification preferred Clear Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check A genuine interest and empathy for the care of senior citizens
Initial Location of Work: Amisk Court (Beaverlodge)

Initial Hours of Work: 8:30 am - 2:30 pm (30 hrs./pay period)

Rotating schedule every other week: Thursday/Friday/Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday (no weekends)

Starting wage: $28.02/hr
