Now open on the Halifax waterfront in the new Queen's Marque district, Mystic explores the natural landscape of Canada with a focus on our Maritime provinces. Here, Chef Malcolm Campbell, who developed a passion for haute cuisine and refined techniques in Michelin-starred settings, and his team are passionate about showcasing the region's most exceptional fish, flora and fauna curating an authentic expression of time and place.



Mystic is currently seeking a Part-Time Cook.



What you will be doing:



prepping food items for service; preparing food according to standardized recipes and menu specifications; adjusting cooking methods based on customer preferences or dietary restrictions; plating dishes according to specifications; maintaining a clean work area as required by provincial health standards; performing assigned opening and closing duties; checking inventory and making sure ingredients are available for daily use; reporting low stock and helping with inventory management; collaborating with the team to ensure smooth kitchen operations; completing all mandatory food hygiene and safety training that must be kept up to date; such other similar or related duties as may be required from time to time.

The person we're looking for has:



2+ years experience as a Cook in a fine-dining or upscale restaurant; culinary school diploma preferred; strong understanding of cooking techniques, local ingredients, and plating aesthetics; a commitment to consistency, and ability to execute dishes to the highest standard of quality and presentation; ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required; a passion for culinary arts and fine dining.
