Purpose of this Position:
The 2nd Cook at Ste. Anne's Spa is responsible for assisting the Executive Chef and Sous Chefs in all aspects of food preparation, cooking, and presentation. You will work closely with the culinary team to ensure the delivery of high-quality meals, maintain kitchen cleanliness, adhere to food safety standards, and create a memorable culinary experience for our guests.

Wage: $21.00 - 26.00 per hour
Paid bi-weekly
Responsibilities:
1. Food Preparation and Cooking:
Prepare and cook a wide variety of menu items, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with an emphasis on fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
Follow standardized recipes and portion control guidelines to ensure consistency and quality.
Adhere to dietary restrictions and special requests to accommodate guests' needs.
Work cold stations during meal services: Garde Mange, Desserts
Be comfortable safely using a variety of kitchen equipment like blenders, food processors, stand mixers, smokers, torches etc.
2. Kitchen Operations:
Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure smooth and efficient meal services.
Maintain a clean and organized workstation and area.
Assist in inventory management, including proper storage, rotation, and utilization of ingredients.
Monitor and record food temperatures to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Assist with ordering and receiving supplies as needed.
3. Teamwork and Communication:
Work closely with the Executive Chef, Chef de Cuisines, Sous Chefs, and other kitchen staff to ensure effective, respectful teamwork and cooperation.
Communicate any issues, concerns, or suggestions to the Executive Chef.
Support and mentor junior kitchen staff members, providing guidance and training as needed.
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
4. Guest Experience:
Ensure that all meals are prepared and presented to meet the highest standards of taste, quality, and visual appeal.
Strive to exceed guest expectations by consistently delivering outstanding culinary experiences.
Job Requirements:
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Maintain proper personal hygiene including clean, controlled hair and appropriate head/hair covering.
Able to stand for long periods of time.
Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Able to squat, kneel, bend, lift, twist at the waist, and reach above the shoulder.
Qualifications:
2 year's experience as a Cook or Chef in a high-volume, professional kitchen environment is required.
Culinary degree or diploma from an accredited institution is preferred.
Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and culinary terminology required.
Familiarity with various dietary restrictions, food allergies, and special diets required.
Understanding of health and safety regulations and proper food handling practices required.
