Job Description

Cook for Montessori school children 18 months-6 years of age (50-80 students)

Will start off at 5 hrs/day and increase 1 hr/day as enrollment increases

Prefer candidates with experience in a daycare and/or serving large quantity of people

Duties/Responsibilities:

COOK Duties

Know recipes and determine how to prepare food in a timely manner Considering children allergies and providing alternatives in class Implement seasonal menus and ensure consistent serving sizes and quality of meals Inspect supplies, equipment and work areas for cleanliness and functionality Prepare food in a timely manner / time management Have extra food prepared for the days cook is away Have efficient knife skills Check freshness of food and ingredients Order and maintain inventory of food and supplies Avoid wastage of food Monitor sanitation practices and follow kitchen safety standards Establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with various community partners Maintaining a healthy physical, emotional, and social environment Ensuring the safety and well-being of children at all times. Being fully aware of children's allergies and dietary needs. Attending staff meetings, professional development activities, open houses, and parent-teacher interviews as required Ensuring that all regulatory standards required by federal, provincial, and municipal governments are being met at all times Other duties as required
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $19.00-$23.00 per hour
