Job Description

Great Blue Resorts owns and operates 10 private resort lakefront properties located throughout Ontario's cottage country. These properties offer outright ownership of beautiful pre-manufactured seasonal recreational cottages. Our resorts have full facilities including community areas, swimming pools, splash pads, multi-sports courts, playgrounds and beaches.



Cook Role Overview



The Cook role at Great Blue Resorts is designed to ensure the Corporate Objectives of maximizing profitability and Owner, Guest & Staff happiness for their resort by following the 3V Philosophy of Visibility, Velocity and Value. The Cook is a strong sales driver, profit focused and people oriented.

They will manage their assigned duties and responsibilities. The Cook will be responsible for helping to maintain the overall culture of the resort and to ensure that staff also represents and embraces Great Blue Resorts culture and goals and is fundamental in the contribution of the overall success of the Golf Course business.



Responsibilities



The Cook's role is to ensure that there is no hold-up to ensure that the guests' food is prepared and served with the guided timelines.

The Cook's responsibility will include but not limited to the following:



The Cook is responsible for maintaining the overall image of the BBQ. The Cook must strive to support a safe, clean and well-maintained area to our daily, weekly and annual guests by supporting the resort team as required below.

1. Signage updated to promote daily specials

2. Cooking area - supplies ordered and organized, inventory restocked.

3. Storage area - restocked and inventory

4. Oversee all inventory tracking and monthly submissions

5. Keep work area clean, sanitized, and ready for business always

6. Prepare food based on guest orders

7. Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines while working with hot surfaces, sharp objects, and other potential hazards.

The Cook must ensure that the BBQ and preparation area meets the expectations of the customers and lives up to its predefined brand image.



The Cook must ensure:



1. One of the major responsibilities of the Cook is to make the guests feel safe and comfortable. It is his/her key responsibility to make sure that the customer leaves with a positive outcome.

2. Maintains a clean cooking area

3. Maintains up-to-date Safe Food Handling Certification



Skills/Requirements



Previous experience in high volume customer service role with proven multi-tasking abilities Experience processing payments Excellent communication skills Strong time management skills with the ability to perform multiple revenue generating opportunities and providing resort support with potential owners, existing owners and rental guests with little to no supervision Comfortable working outdoors in differing weather conditions Must be available to work weekends and some evenings
