to join our West Bedford Transitional Health team based in Bedford, Nova Scotia.

About the Opportunity

Plans and prepares meals according to established standards, procedures, recipes and menus, including preparing special meals to meet appropriate therapeutic menu modifications according to established guidelines; Assists with preparation of food for special functions (e.g. catering, theme dinners) to ensure service meets established standards; Reports any recipe shortages, discrepancies or quality issues to the Executive Chef or supervisor in a timely manner; Cleans and sanitizes cooking station daily; maintains cleanliness of kitchen equipment such as ovens, kettles, mixers or others according to legislative and organizational standards; Follows disposal procedures according to established waste management guidelines for organics, paper, plastics, cans/bottles, non-recyclable material, etc;

About You

In addition to placing high value on continuous improvement, collaboration and accountability, you bring:


Culinary Arts Diploma and a valid Red Seal Certificate Current Food Handler's Certificate Experience in preparing large quantities of food Ability to read & follow detailed recipes/instructions as required Ability to provide a clear criminal record check A passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services and care
