POSITION OVERVIEW




As a

Cook Assistant

, you will work closely with the campus Cook and Centre Director to support the preparation, serving, and cleanup of nutritious meals and snacks. This role is key to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming kitchen environment and ensuring that food is prepared in alignment with allergy accommodations, nutrition standards, and health regulations.

This is a 1 year contract position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:



Assist in preparing and serving meals and snacks that meet daily schedules and dietary guidelines Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen, including dishwashing and surface sanitization Follow health regulations and food safety procedures at all times Support allergy accommodations through food separation and proper hygiene practices Assist with kitchen inventory, food prep, and receiving deliveries as needed Take direction from the Cook and contribute to a smooth kitchen workflow Other duties as assigned to support kitchen efficiency and child well-being

QUALIFICATIONS:



Education & Experience



High School Diploma (OSSD or GED) required Prior experience in food preparation, kitchen work, or meal service is considered an asset

Certifications & Knowledge



Valid Food Handler's Certification required Familiarity with Canada's Food Guide and nutrition best practices preferred

MINISTRY REQUIREMENTS:



2 Step TB Updated Immunizations (Tetanus, MMR) Vulnerable Sector Check Standard First Aid & CPR Level C
